The Blackmagic Design UltraStudio Express Recorder 3G is a compact, pocket-sized video capture device that makes it easy to record or stream high-quality video directly to your computer via a Thunderbolt 4 connection. Designed for professional workflows, it accepts both 3G-SDI and HDMI video sources, supporting YUV and RGB formats at resolutions up to 1080p60.

Powered through its USB-C connection, the UltraStudio Recorder 3G draws power directly from your connected computer, eliminating the need for an external power supply. Its high-speed interface supports a wide range of industry-standard video formats, including Apple ProRes, Avid DNxHD, and 10-bit uncompressed video for exceptional image quality.

The UltraStudio Express Recorder 3G is NOT compatible with USB 3. Keep the following in mind:

USB-C port is a type of connector.
USB 3 is an incompatible signal format.
Thunderbolt 3 is a signal format.
Both Thunderbolt 3 and USB 3 are incompatible
Thunderbolt 4 or USB4 are required.

If you do not have a Thunderbolt 4 connection or USB4 connection on your computer (and a Thunderbolt cable or USB4-specific cable), this product will not work for you.
